Rodney Copperbottom wielding the Scrap Launcher in Robots for the PlayStation 2.
The scrap launcher is a weapon in the video game adaptations of Robots. It appears in all versions of the game and shoots scrap at enemies.
Home console game[]
In the home console version of Robots, he acquires the weapon from his father Herb Copperbottom. The weapon fires scrap, which is used to damage enemies. Scrap is also used as a currency, which means using it takes away from potential future purchases. The Scrap Launcher has a limited range and the scrap will explode after reaching a certain distance.
There are four upgrades to the Scrap Launcher, but only one of them can be used at one time, as they are mutually exclusive. They can be purchased at various vendors. Purchasing an upgrade will destroy the previous upgrade, if one has been brought already.
The Scrap Launcher Megashot upgrade increases the damage each shot does, and allows for a charged shot which consumes three scrap at once.
The Scrap Launcher Homershot upgrade allows for shots to be charged, and these charged shots are homing attacks.
The Scrap Launcher Sprayshot upgrade changes its firing mode to shoot three scrap projectiles at once, though this results in three scrap being consumed per activation.
The Scrap Launcher Ricoshot causes projectiles from the weapon to bounce off objects they hit.
