Zinc was a scrapped minor character of the film Robots. He appeared three times, twice in deleted scenes and once in the extra Aunt Fanny's Tour of Booty.
Physical Appearance[]
Zinc has a broad face, similar in appearance to a truck grill. He has yellow eyes that look like headlights. His body is slightly larger than average, and is a dark teal. Zinc's legs have spring coils wrapped around them. In deleted storyboard sketches, Zinc's head has an opening on the top where steam comes out of. In Aunt Fanny's Tour of Booty, Zinc wears a trucker hat which reads 'I ❤️ RC', the 'RC' being short for 'Robot City'
Personality[]
Zinc seems to be teasing towards bots he comes in contact with, particularly Crank and Fender. He enjoys tricking bots and poking fun at them, and is prone to making himself laugh.
History[]
Not much is known about Zinc, especially not his early life. In Aunt Fanny's Tour of Booty, which can be assumed is set before the events of Robots, Zinc is part of a tour group with Fender and a few other unnamed bots. When a bellhop robot swerves out of the way to avoid hitting Aunt Fanny, the bot hits Zinc instead, sending broken pieces of him flying in all directions. He is reassembled at some point during the tour, as he appears in the next scene change with the rest of the tour group. In the final scene, Zinc is sent flying with the rest of the tour group when knocked into by Fender before crashing back down. He is included in the post card in the final scene.
In a deleted scene where Rodney meets the Rusties, Zinc shows up after Fender loses an eye. He sticks around, hearing Crank's nervous ramblings about the Sweepers, and decides to leave in order to play a prank on the Rusties. He pretends to be caught by a Sweeper, and, once the other bots leave, actually gets caught by a Sweeper.
Zinc's final scene is when he is sent to the Chop Shop to be melted down into spare parts for Madame Gasket. He appears as simply a dismembered (yet still living) head. While Madame Gasket speaks with Ratchet and the workers of the Chop Shop, Zinc's head is sent through the entirety of the factory. It is unknown whether he makes it out alive, but it is possible he would have had an offscreen death.
